The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber was honored to host the  Local Legends Celebration, recognizing extraordinary leaders who have dedicated their careers to strengthening our community. This year, we proudly celebrated Janel Donohue, Janet Gullickson, and Teri McNally for their profound impact on the region.

The honorees were celebrated with heartfelt remarks from colleagues and community leaders, sharing stories of their dedication and accomplishments. To show our appreciation, each honoree received an official recognition from the General Assembly and a Luxury Escape Spa Package from Collage Spa—a small token of thanks for their years of service.

The Local Legends celebration is more than just an event; it is a moment to reflect on the impact of those who have devoted their time, expertise, and passion to the betterment of our community. Leadership, service, vision, strength, and commitment are the defining qualities of this year’s honorees:

  • Janel Donohue – A compassionate leader whose warmth and dedication have made a lasting impact on Rappahannock United Way.
  • Janet Gullickson – A visionary who transformed Germanna Community College, ensuring access to quality education for countless students.
  • Teri McNally – A confident and dynamic force behind the success of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region.

Through their efforts, these leaders have helped create jobs, support nonprofits, and drive economic growth in the region. Their work has proven that community and economic development must go hand in hand.

Although Janel, Janet, and Teri are retiring from their roles, they have made it clear that their commitment to our community remains steadfast. Their contributions will continue to inspire future leaders, and we look forward to partnering with them in new ways.

We are reminded that leadership is not just about holding a position—it’s about the impact we leave behind. We celebrate Janel, Janet, and Teri for setting an example of service, responsibility, and vision for those who follow.
