We hope you will join our fundraiser for Ukraine –Sign on as a sponsor!
Four Fredericksburg Sister City Associations (Fréjus, Este, Schwetzingen, and Kathmandu) are organizing this
fundraiser to support the people of Ukraine. It is a week-long on-line auction of work by local artists. With
sponsorship funds we can advertise that the winning bids “will be matched by our generous community
sponsors.”
Please consider signing up as a sponsor at one of four levels of support: $250, $500, $1000, and $2500. You will be
recognized at the event with a large poster showing your name and logo, and in all social media and radio
opportunities. Sponsorship from community leaders and businesses will help motivate others to make a contribution
to help the people of Ukraine, and the idea of “matching” will stimulate their generosity.
Thirty artists (painters, ceramicists, photographers, etc.) are donating to the auction. It will begin on-line a
week before the public event and culminate with final bids at 4 PM on October 23 at CRRL Headquarters
(1201 Caroline St); the fundraiser event will run from 2 to 5.
The funds we raise will go to three charities known for having an effective presence in Ukraine: Doctors
without Borders, World Central Kitchen, and Save the Children. This choice addresses three areas: medical,
food, and the welfare of children. $100 allows Save the Children to provide meals for a child for one month.
World Central Kitchen has already provided over 100 million meals for Ukrainian refugees. Doctors without
Borders is working to provide emergency medical care to people who are surrounded by military forces and
running out of food and water.
