Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Staff Promotions

The Chamber proudly promoted four dedicated staff members, recognizing their exceptional contributions and efforts. Wendy Zelazny, Carley Walker, Gretchen Rusden, and April Milupi were all honored for their outstanding work and commitment to excellence. These promotions highlight the significant impact each of these individuals has made within the Chamber, and we look forward to their continued success and leadership in their new roles.

The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber recently promoted Wendy Zelazny to Senior Vice President, Membership & Growth Strategies. Zelazny joined the Chamber over six years ago. The organization has experienced significant growth in its top tier membership levels because of her strong business engagement skills. Zelazny has an expansive background that includes film production. She modernized the Chamber’s ribbon-cutting services to provide an enhanced experience and marketing for business celebrations.

“Wendy is a tremendous asset to the Chamber,” said Susan Spears, President & CEO. “Her incredible work ethic and enthusiasm, and her unwavering commitment to our member business’s success, has attracted more diverse members to our organization. We are fortunate to have her!”

Carley Swaim Walker has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Workforce & Community Development. Walker joined the Chamber four years ago after relocating to Fredericksburg from Greensboro, N.C. Walker serves as the Executive Director for the Chamber’s Workforce NOW 501c (3) where she has propelled the programming and participation of both businesses and local students over the past several years. “The Chamber has benefited immensely from Carley’s leadership and nonprofit management experience. Her ability to leverage volunteers while guiding internal teams is a sought-after skill in the Chamber industry,” said Susan Spears. “It is also important to note that she is a joy to be around on a daily basis!”

The Chamber is pleased to announce the promotions of Gretchen Rusden and April Milupi, both integral members of our marketing team.

Gretchen Rusden has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications. She joined the Chamber team at the beginning of 2022, bringing over 20 years of experience in the marketing field. Prior to joining us, Gretchen worked in digital and strategic marketing, honing her skills and expertise. As a seasoned marketer, she brings valuable insights and well-thought-out marketing initiatives to the Chamber, contributing significantly to our growth and success.

April Milupi has been promoted to Marketing Specialist. April has been with the Chamber for three years and moved to the area from Greenville, SC, just before starting with us. Prior to joining the Chamber, April accumulated over 15 years of experience in retail and website management, along with her creative and aesthetic style. April designs graphics, manages the Chamber’s social media channels, and handles special marketing projects, showcasing her versatility and dedication.
