The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Central Virginia Horse Rescue on August 31st to help celebrate the permanent home of the organization. Michelle Caldwell Thompson, owner of CTI Real estate and Chamber of Commerce board member opened the event by stating, “A noble endeavor, whether it is rescuing horses with law enforcement, animal control or from the owner they do great work and we are thankful, pleased and honored to welcome this wonderful organization to our region.”
Central Virginia Horse Rescue, Inc is a 501(c)3 small rescue founded in south central Virginia and dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of needy horses. In 2020, the Horse Adoption Central moved to Fredericksburg, VA. The rescue serves the state of Virginia.Stacey Franklin, Program Director said, “We started leasing this farm 2 ½ years ago and never thought we would own it, we certainly talked about it but never thought it would happen. It is due to the generosity of our community, volunteer and supporters, thank you.”
To end the event Burke and Herbert presented a check to the rescue for $1000.00 to give back to the community.
