Announce the Rebrand of Their Young Professionals Group

Fredericksburg – The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce announced last Friday (1/10/2020) that the Next Generation of Business Leader’s (NextGen), the organization’s young professionals group has officially changed its name to The Chamber’s Network of Young Professionals (CNYP). 

“I love the new CNYP brand. It comes at the perfect time when our group is growing and evolving its programming. Having a new image is a great way to showcase that we are more than just another networking group. It’s 2020 and our vision for CNYP is clearer than ever. CNYP is committed to developing young leaders professionally and giving back to our community.  We have a lot of new events planned this year to switch things up and reach a wider audience.” –Grace Draper, Chair of CNYP Advisory Committee

CNYP strives to serve as the catalyst for young professionals to make measurable and significant growth in both their personal and professional lives as well as in our community.

How CNYP Connects

Civic Engagement: When you invest in our community, it pays off. CNYP drives volunteerism to enhance civic engagement for our region’s young professionals. Quarterly volunteer events will be available.

Professional Development: CNYP, helps members cultivate professional skills essential for strong leadership with quarterly programs such as Mid-Week Motivation Luncheons.

Networking: Build your network and community with other ambitious young professionals. With many networking opportunities throughout the year, the opportunity to foster new relationships is at your fingertips. CNYP offers meaningful connections with young leaders across many industries.

How Can I Join CNYP?

Chamber Members or employees of Chamber Members between the ages of 21 and 40 have the benefit to join the group for FREE.

If you are interested in joining but not employed by a Chamber Member, the annual fee is $50.

Next Gen to Honor Young Professionals

Next Gen to Honor Young Professionals
Group to be honored as ‘Top 10 of the Next Gen’

FREDERICKSBURG - Ten Fredericksburg-area young professionals under the age of 40 will be honored on Thursday, November 7th by the Next Generation of Business Leaders, a program of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The members of the group will be recognized at the eighth-annual “Top 10 of the Next Gen” event. The ceremony will be held at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library downtown at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 which includes appetizers and two drink tickets. Chamber members will receive a $10 off discount. People can register online at www.fxbgchamber.org

Next Gen’s board and the Chamber selected the 10 winners following a nomination period. The recipients were chosen for their professional accomplishments, community contributions and their passion for quality of life in the region.

NextGen to Honor Young Professionals 
Group to be honored as ‘Top 10 of the Next Gen’

FREDERICKSBURG - Ten Fredericksburg-area professionals 40 years old and under will be honored November 15th at an annual event hosted by the Next Generation of Business Leaders, a program of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The members of the group will be recognized at the seventh-annual “Top 10 of the Next Gen” event at 718 Venue on Caroline Street downtown. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $20 for Next Gen members and guests.  People can register online at www.fxbgchamber.org.

Next Gen’s board selected the 10 winners following a nomination period. The recipients were chosen for both their professional accomplishments and community contributions.

Applications accepted for 2016 Made in FredVa contest

Applications are being accepted for the fourth-annual Made in FredVA business startup competition.

 

People will have until September 23 to submit their business concepts online at madeinfredva.com. There is no cost to apply. Startups or new divisions of existing companies both qualify.

 

The Next Generation of Business Leaders’ (NextGen) board of directors will select four finalists to “pitch” their business ideas during a live finale event on October 27 at the Inn at the Olde Silk Mill. At the finale, the finalists will pitch their ideas in front of the audience, and local entrepreneur judges will ask questions following the presentation. The judges will then deliberate privately and return to present the grand prize.

 

The winner of the Made in FredVA event will receive at least $5,000 toward startup expenses. The final prize amount will be announced later and is expected to grow. There is a “People’s Choice” cash award that is voted on during the event. The judges will be local entrepreneurs who will make the final selection at the Made in FredVA event.
